Detaloc Zok Drug Interactions
- Patients receiving concomitant treatment with sympathetic ganglion blocking agents; other beta-blockers, or MAO inhibitors should be kept under surveillance.
- If concomitant treatment with clonidine is to be discontinued, the beta-blocker medication should be withdrawn several days before clonidine.
- A watch should be kept for possible negative inotropic and chronotropic effects when Betaloc Zok is given together with calcium antagonists and/or antiarrhythmic agents, and especially after intravenous administration of calcium antagonists of the verapamil-type.
- Beta-blockers may enhance the negative-inotropic and negative-chronotropic effect of antiarrhythmic agents (of the quinidine type and amiodarone).
- Digitalis glycoside, in association with beta-blockers, may increase atrioventricular conduction time and may induce bradycardia.
- In patients receiving β-blocker therapy, inhalation anesthetics enhance the cardio depressant effect.
- Concomitant treatment with indomethacin may decrease the antihypertensive effect of β-blockers.
- Under certain conditions, when adrenaline is administered to patients treated with β-blockers, cardio-selective β-blockers interfere much less with blood pressure control than non-selective β-blockers.
- The dosage of oral anti-diabetics may have to be readjusted in patients receiving β-blockers.
- Betaloc ZOK may reduce the clearance of other drugs (e.g. lignocaine).
