In case where its use is mandatory, Betaloc Zok may be employed during pregnancy and in nursing mothers.
- Pregnancy
As with all antihypertensive agents, β-blockers may cause side effects, e.g. bradycardia, and hypoglycemia in the fetus and in the new born and breast fed infant. - Lactation
The amount of Betaloc Zok (metoprolol) ingested via breast milk seems to be negligible as regards β-blocking effect, if the mother is treated with Betaloc Zok (metoprolol) in doses within the normal therapeutic range.
